Money back towards everyday dental care from as little as £7.35 a month

How the Dental Plan works

The LHF Dental Plan is the easy way to help make sure you can afford the best dental care when you need it.

Simply pay a small regular sum every month. Then go to the dentist whenever you need to - and claim money back towards the cost of treatment, up to your annual limit.

The money comes straight to you, usually in a matter of days. You can also cover all the resident children in your family up to the age of 18 from an additional £1 per month.

Private or NHS?

You can claim for both. Here's a quick guide to what you'll be covered for.

  • Check-ups, x-rays, visits to the hygienist - maintenance in general
  • Fillings, bridges and crowns
  • Emergency dental care
  • Treatment after accidental damage to your teeth

The LHF Dental Plan covers:

  • 100% money back towards bills for maintenance, including check-ups, x-rays and hygienist visits, up to your annual limit.
  • 75% money back on bills for dental treatment, including crowns and white fillings, up to your annual limits, subject to a three month qualifying period.
  • Cover if you need to see a dentist in an emergency, if you're in severe pain or problems with your teeth are causing other health problems subject to a three month qualifying period.
  • Cover if you need treatment following an accident, where your teeth suffer damage subject to a three month qualifying period.
  • One off payment of up to £12,000 if you are diagnosed with mouth cancer, subject to a six month qualifying period.

Restrictions and Limitations:

  • Pre-existing conditions which were either known about by you, planned or recommended by your dentist before you took out your policy, or which were revealed in the first check-up you have after taking out the policy (if you had not had a check-up for 2 years prior to taking out your policy) will not be covered.
  • For all elements of cover, except mouth cancer cover, you are reimbursed a proportion of the costs incurred, up to an annual limit. Set sums are paid on diagnosis of mouth cancer. You will not be able to claim mouth cancer cover if you have previously been diagnosed with mouth cancer or if you have been referred by your dentist or GP for diagnostic tests before you take out a LHF Dental Plan. Mouth cancer cover is only paid once per insured person.
  • You can claim using your LHF Dental Plan immediately for check-ups, including x-rays and simple scaling and hygienist’s fees. For everyday treatment such as fillings, crowns and dentures, a three-month qualifying period applies and mouth cancer benefit isn’t available for the first six months you are covered by the LHF Dental Plan.
  • A 3 month qualifying period must be served for Dental Accident Cover and Dental Emergency Visit.
  • Cosmetic dental treatment, orthodontic treatment, dental implants and veneers are not covered. Please refer to the ‘Details of cover under this plan’ and ‘General exclusions’ in the Terms and Conditions for full details of what is and isn’t covered.
  • You must be aged between 18 and 69 and a permanent UK resident to join the LHF Dental Plan. For an additional premium, you may include your partner and children on your plan, the same qualifying periods must be served before they can claim.
